The Helen Krause Animal Foundation (which I came across through Flickr) has an awesome shelter. Instead of individual cages, their cats get nice big communal rooms to lounge in, and HUGE sun decks to watch birds from. Still, as Maggie knows, there's no place like home. She was returned to Helen Krause 13 years after being adopted as a kitten :(

I hate it when older pets are given up. They've earned their happily ever after! Why is it that their previous people get to walk out the door, with no obligation to make up for what they've taken away?
That is incredible! The cats there live better than I do!
I can not believe that someone would give up a cat after all that time... that is so sad. :(
Have you heard about Hanna's Kitty enrichment three part program to improve Kitty quality of life at WHS?

I was at the cat enrichment orientation on Sunday! I'm excited about the program, but I still wish WHS had space for cats to come out of their cages and walk around.
